Derrick@crockettmyers.com“The key to success is to focus our conscious mind on things we desire not things we fear.” Brian Tracy Derrick worked with Dave Crockett full time from 1983 – 1989 while attending the University of Maryland and upon graduation was made a partner in the company. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, accompanied by certificates in accounting and finance, Derrick went on to successfully attain his Certified Public Accountant designation. Derrick continued his professional education becoming a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), an Investment Advisor Representative.
Derrick provides us with the expertise to guide businesses and individuals toward their financial goals through management advisory services, as well as tax, estate and financial planning. In addition, Derrick has also achieved the Advanced Master Florist Manager (AMFM) designation from FTD. As an AMFM, Derrick works with and helps our floral clients grow their business. Derrick’s other responsibilities include marketing, managing the transition process for new clients, setting up or revamping financial systems, software installation / setup and corporate and individual tax returns. Working hand in hand with our clients, Derrick provides an analysis of their business and personal position and enables them to achieve the goals they establish. In his spare time, Derrick enjoys golfing, playing bass guitar and spending time with his family.

JoAnn is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and a 1995 graduate of the University of Baltimore with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. JoAnn’s many years of experience includes all accounting functions, tax research and tax return preparation for Corporations, LLC’s, Partnerships and Non-Profit organizations. She joined Crockett, Myers & Associates in January 1998 and she continues her education by attending seminars through the Maryland Society of Accountants. In her spare time…. JoAnn also enjoys travel and scuba diving with her family.
Melonie Courchaine – Senior Accountant / Office Manager

Melonie graduated from the University of Baltimore in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Melonie has over 35 years of corporate accounting experience and provides us with expertise in cost accounting, business plan development and numerous computer applications.
She joined Crockett, Myers & Associates in February 2000 and continues to gain knowledge in public accounting. Melonie is a QuickBooks Proadvisor and is our expert in installation, setup and training. As our special projects coordinator, Melonie works closely with Derrick coordinating new client setup, information gathering, and brings the client’s work up to date in order to provide a smooth transition to the monthly accountant. In her spare time Melonie enjoys traveling (especially to the beach), and photography.

Shannon had 9 years bookkeeping experience as a former client before she came to join our team in November 2005. Shannon efficiently balanced working full time while earning her Associate and Bachelor degrees in Accounting; she has proven time and time again to be a reliable, consistent, meticulous and determined employee and truly committed to her work and clients.Shannon is competent, methodical, inquisitive, helpful and responsive. Co-workers describe her as dedicated, awesome, helpful, persistent and loyal. Shannon enjoys collecting new recipes to try, scrapbooking pictures and memorabilia, she takes pride in gardening and household projects as well as spending time with her husband, family and friends.

Sheila was the first non-relative employee to work for Crockett, Myers at their first location from 1996 to 2001, and then re-joined our team in November 2015. Sheila handles bookkeeping, processes payroll and quarterly reports. Sheila brings much value to our team with her many years’ experience in payroll and is very detailed, organized and neat. Her knowledge continues to grow as we gain clients across the United States. Sheila enjoys volunteering at the Animal Rescue and is on a pool league. When she is not working she spends time with her family and her two Boston Terriers, Sammie and Gizmo.
SAMANTHA RIES - ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Samantha started at Crockett, Myers in March 2012 where she worked part time as our front desk receptionist. In August 2013 she started working full time as an administrative assistant where she processes payroll reports, assists clients in file transfers and helps answer their questions or guide them in the right direction. Sam assists Derrick in marketing strategies and works with Mel to get our new clients setup and on the right track for a successful partnership. In her spare time she enjoys hunting, making crafts and being outdoors, but most importantly spending time with her children and family.

Jenny joined the Crockett, Myers team in 2017, while continuing her schooling in Psychology and Biology at University of Maryland University College. In her spare time she has and continues to assist an individual with a disability and takes pride in helping him be an independent member of the community. She also enjoys volunteering for organizations like Meals on Wheels and Healthcare for the Homeless.
